PR is dead....focus on quality content and links from social media and forums like this. Engage your customers. Don't focus on PR, its a thing of the past.

PR is not dead. Google just stopped showing it to people because there so much mess going on in their algorithm. This is how Google hides issues.... PR is still a factor. Have you read this document released by Google on quality and what they expect: http://static.googleusercontent.com...s/assets/searchqualityevaluatorguidelines.pdf

If not, I recommend reading it from page one to the end.

And you have read this word for word, from start to end? I think not there stud. You shouldn't advise something to someone else that you have not done yourself. That is truly called bad advice. I just conducted a keyword search in that pdf and nothing on PR, so not sure why you would link that. It might talk about quality, but the topic of discussion here is PR and nowhere in that documentation does it reference that. Also, unless you worked for Google (an employee), you would have no idea that "that is how Google hides issues."

Back to the point here, you are perhaps true in saying PR is still a factor.....I have read elsewhere myself that they use it internally. But as far as customer/user facing metrics we should be concerned about, PR isn't one of them. Why would i focus my energy on trying to increase my PR when its not updated?? That is like trying to test if a lightbulb works with no power. It doesn't make sense and its a waste of time.

In further point, focusing on getting backlinks for traffic and clicks, social media likes and favoriting (social sharing) is much more important. You can have a horrible domain name and TLD and slop for information on your site, but if you have a product that is unique and valuable, people will share it and it will take off. Focusing on PR, one of my forms of measurement Google uses, is a waste of time and is essentially "dead." That is my point.

Let me ask you something. You saying that I have not done things myself. How do you know anything about me? I think you give people wrong advise. Who said that "focusing" on getting back links is what you supposed to do. You don't break it down to what "back links" mean... Do you mean "spam" the hell out of your site with back links or "beg" your competitor for back links, because obviously you need "links" from relative web sites to yours? Seems like you have high level knowledge about Google and blindly follow the same trap as everyone else.... Just so you know, social is not considered by any means as anything in Google. Google does not take your likes and all that into consideration for the authority. You are actually right about value and people sharing but seems like you never rolled up your sleeves and got something done for let's say 7 digits at least... I did.

Did you know that PR is still a core of Google algorithm invented by Larry Page from the day one of Google? It is still a factor, Google just removed API that was showing you that PR. The calculations that give you authority is still same old "PR", that did not change from the day one.

Anyway, we are in different parallels my friend. This conversation starting to get boring. I am out. Seriously check out that document...

you don't impress me. You can throw numbers and your knowledge around, but it means jack sh** to me dude. im not your friend. You like to focus and emphasize that PR still exists....that was never that argument i was trying to make. I clarified myself, let me do it again: when I said "dead", i meant "dead to me, dead to you" - it shouldn't be focused on. Us, external users, have no way of measuring PR. You got a serious ego that you wanted stroked man, and I am not the one to do it. And rolling up your sleeves? Its never safe to assume anything in life, but I can safely assume and extreme gratification out of knowing you don't know what true hard work is, so don't use those words. You don't have a right to use those words. If you were Mr. Bigbucks, you wouldn't be posting on a thread that nobody else commented on. You would have more important things to do.

My brother, there no need to get worked up about anything. It's not worth it. It's fine - you think that way, beautiful. You want to have sexy time with Google and get no where - even better, less competition for me :). Have fun, enjoy life.... I drive exotic and I live in the huge house and I do everything I can to stay that way.... that all that matters to me. and yes, I made money in Google.

Hello, I will recommend you to improve your content! Also, use keyword in your link! Share with your blog in all social networks, and post a lot of news and discossing topics! Also, you can buy traffic, and maybe you can use Tunbler for it!
