    Use js and css code external.
    Minimize script calling.

    avoid flash if you have any. reduce the image size.

    I agree with komrad, you should define the size of your image in your html like < img src="image.jpg" width="120" height="80"> this makes sure your whole page will load first and in case you have huge images they will load while your site as a whole is already visible. If you don't do that it takes a lot of time to load your site as 1 which might turn off visitors.I also recommend you to take a look at this link, I am in no way affiliated btw, but it finds errors in your code and optimizing it sure speeds up the loading time: www . metafever . com / free-seo-report

    use of HTML 5 make the website very light. and avoid flash content on home page..It will speedup your website loading.
