I have a PR2 site that gets 50k visitors a month, and a PR4 site that gets 200 visitors a month. PR shouldn't be the end-all goal. It's part of the equation, but by no means the whole thing.
Hello OP. Backlinks are important but not as much as content. One of my sites had 100% uniquie content being added fairly regualrly, and has a few links, about 80, but not many PR ones. Yet my blog jumped from PR 0 to PR2, then the next update to PR3! I think it's the unique content. Once you are indexed, google will check for unique content. Whatever you do, don't post copy/paste articles. Regards
If you want really higher PR then submit your blog/website url in directories which are free and good for high quality links and submit guest articles on higher ranked blogs...

Increase your online presence by making your site popular. In achieving this, you need to post on forums using your site url as the signature, blog commenting, rss submission, backlinking, quality content etc
Hi........ Please collect the sites where you submit your news or article. During the submission some sides has an icon to your back link. When you submit your news or article and enter your back link your page rank can automatically improved.....
submit your blog on search engines, comment on different blogs and join fanlistings/site listings! <-- this is what I'd usually share on other forum that is related to this topic/question
It really does boil down to better back linking on high PR pages throughout the Web. This certainly takes work though. Building good content is a great strategy for this, however, it is a long term one. Keep at it!
