    Hello,
I have a dating site, www.asiafuns.com, and it 's been running for 2 years but ONLY has PR1. How do I increase or build its PR? I have about 20 static links pages for the total of 200 links. But the PR is too low. I have another site with PR3.
Please show me a way to build my pr?
Do I have to exchange links on my homepage? (not link page)
    What do I do?

    Thanks.

Get more and more high PR links.. it will help you gain higher PR, but it wont help you to get higher ranking in SERP.

Very Simple. Submit to directories, exchange links, buy links, and add your site to your sig on the forums that you participate in.

Wow, I've submitted to directories but not 200+. Can you give me a rough idea where you find these directories?

Trade links with higher PR websites. That's the only way to increase your PR in the short term.

I think your question is already answered above.
I'm just curious why are you interested in PR?

I am interested in PR because higher pr sites do not want to trade links with me. Most of good link sites require a site with PR 4 or above to trade links with so they rejected my site.
Also, most of link sites agreed to link with me have about 2000 links on it already and they bury my link at the bottom (p.30,...) which no one click on my site ever.
And I am a student so I do not have money to pay for paid links... but I think there must be a way to improve PR and I don't know it.

This is my understand of improving PR: when a PR5 page place my PR1 on its site, then, later on, my site will gets PR 4 or PR5, AM I RIGHT?

    Big thanks.
    Please help.
    Jenny.

    Nope.. You are wrong there...

As far as getting links are concerned..
    DOs
    1) Put your site in your sig in this forum and make quality posts (So that your posts will stay, and people would notice it)

    2) Submit your site to free directories (There are thousands of free directories out there...)

    3) Put unique and intresting content on your site (Other websites would link to your site if they find your content unique or intresting)

    4) Write articles about the subject, your site is on, submit it to article sites (This way you will get free links)

    DONTs
    1) Never ever involve in link farming services

    2) Do not exchange links with non-relevent sites (can hurt your SERP)

    3) Dont go for top sites (Usualy they dont provide you a direct link)

    4) Dont exchange links just for sake of exchanging links. (beware of bad neighbourhood)

    5) Dont join FFA (Free For All) link exchage

1st post.. so hi all! :)

Just wondering on the general consensus here... is Pagerank still relevant to search engine positioning? I was told by a SEO guy to only get links in from relevant, high PR sites. So if all that does is ultimately improve my PR over time but has no effect on where my site appears in the SERP, then what is the point of trying to increase PR in the first place? Does it not matter then to get links from PR0 sites providing they are relevant because if PR has no effect on the SERP then a link will help regardless of PR?

The best bet these days is to join up at www.three-way-links.com and trade manually with other people in your general theme.

Three-way-links.com is not a FFA, and is not an automated service. You get to set filters on the campaigns so you always get what you want.

    Enjoy :)

    Hi Joe

Probably best to put this in it's own thread but briefly - page rank is an indicator of a site's popularity. It's an easy thing to bandy about but you can still have horrid SERPs and great PR. It all depends on how well your site is suited to the keywords you are chasing.

    Hi JoebeeKenobi

From my personal experience, I can assure you that PageRank although is not given a high weightage by Google as it used to be, it is still a factor in search engine positioning.

BTW, shouldn't this post posted in Search Engine Optimization forum?
