    Give google a reason to keep coming back. Start updating your blog on a daily basis and you will see your crawl rate increase.

    Does this really work? Because I update my blog numerous times a day (always at least once)

    And if I do update more than once a day will it come back even more often

    And Finnaly, how can I tell when it has visited? Do I just search for my newest post in google?

    webmaster tools = google it (it's not hard)
    logs = server logs.

    No, Webmaster Tools is a Google Application to check the status of your websites. Go to http://www.google.com/webmasters/ to sign up.

    You will then be able to check the crawl rate of your site amongst other variables.

    hope this helps
