How to Increase Followers in Twitter

Hi,
I have been on Twitter for the last 5 years but since there is not a lot of people following me I have not taken a keen interest. However, I believe it can be a great tool for Marketing. So can anyone give me any ideas as exactly how can I increase my followers?

First you should follow the people who have huge followers then they will follow you back.

 

Yeah, no. People that have huge amounts of followers usually don't follow anybody without a proper reason except they are just "Follow me, I follow you", which should be avoided BTW.

You can increase followers by followers others peoples who is related to you. And follow back all followers. Regular post important tweets, mentions tweets, add favorite etc. Give thanks those followers who follow you, so their followers also interested to follow you. Hope this will helpful for you.

Twitter at the end of the day is a social media platform. To get noticed you need to notice and engage with people. But you need to engage with like minded people for instance those in the same field as you and those who share the same interest. Then start tweeting regular interesting stuff. You will notice in a short period of time people will start following you and then it's really easy to follow them back! There are also really interesting apps you can use to make this task easier for you.

Another method is getting a retweet by someone with a lot of followers, saying that 'you should follow this' and you will get a lot of followers pretty fast.

I would say from a marketing perspective, gaining followers is incredibly beneficial and can be done in a variety of steps. First, what is your business or brand? Follow similar brands and professionals related to your industry. Second, follow people of interest, aka a target demographic, that might be interested in your industry, services, or product. Post original, short tips and informative tweets that will keep them interested and willing to follow you. Lastly, reciprocate, retweet, and reply! Show an interest in your followers and the people you are following. Like any marketing strategy, marketing yourself on twitter is based around a desired action and a target demographic.

I agree and I will also add interest, so if the company is all about selling shoes, lets say, then search twitter using the keywords that interest you and follow those people. Building a good set of followers who will become your customers requires diligence and patience.

2 things I can suggest:

1 - invest a couple of bucks into some automation software (I use Tweet Adder). This will allow you to easily gain a few followers every day until you reach the 2000 following threshold after which...

2 - Buy Twitter Followers for just a few dollars. Follows4u.com (as well as many others I am sure) can add Twitter Followers to your Twitter account on the cheap. from their website:

Firstly... DO NOT buy Twitter followers.. they will do you no good for a number of reasons.
1. They might not be real people.
2. If they are real, they probably won't want what you are selling, so therefore are worthless.

If you are going to spend, I would (as per the previous post) I would definitely suggest you go for Tweet Adder.

You can use a free trial first to get a feel for it.

Actually there are less numbers of people use twitter comparatively facebook. However, it is not a matter of one day. Try a lot.

 

Find and follow people with a common interest and hope that they follow back.

 

I think that identifying with a well defined political group is the way to get followers. It's also a way to drive away other followers. You have to take calculated risks.
