If possible, try to make your Display URL emphasize your keyword or product.

Your ad must display your keyword at least once.
It should very very relevant to the landing page it's linked to.
Landing page should be of quality and with a lot of targeted keywords in text.
Ad should be appealing and preferably stand out from the rest so it will get recognized and spark some interest.

Implement these tips - and you'll see a change for sure!

also spell out the benefit that you're offering in the first two lines of your ad i.e. "save you money", "make you smarter"' "make your dick bigger" or whatever..

I would focus on optimizing your landing page... Make the keyword(s) appear on your website as much as possible (keep the keyword within 3% to 5% of your webpage keyword density).... This will increase your "quality score" and make your ad appear in the top rankings while keeping the cost as low as possible...

    Catchy headlines.

What are they looking for? Provide them that in the title.

If they are looking for Cheap Hosting, put Amazingly cheap hosting, for example.

You simply need a better ad for better CTR.

The thing is, you'll never know what ad will work best when entering a niche. Here's a tip I've learned......

-Enter your keyword in google search
-Now look at all the adword ads
-Get ideas for your ads from your existing competitors. They've been there longer, so more than likely they have an ad with a decent CTR. Don't steal their ad, but almost.
-Choose 5-10 variations and run a campaign where these variations are running against one another. Maybe just change second, third, or display url. You don't have to have 10 completely different ads.
    -Pick the winner
    -Start over

It's all about testing and tracking.

wboster is right on. If you are starting out, expect some growing pains or should I say marketing pains until you know what works and what doesn't. I test more than one adgroup in a campaign. Eventually I know what combination of keywords, landing page and ads work. If I have keywords that is getting a lot of impressions, but no clicks, it is going to bring my ctr down. Need to get rid of those or pause the keyword until you come up with a better plan. Testing...and making adjustments is the key to increasing your CTR.

separate your keywords by relevance, then write distinctive ad copy. bid a little bit higher.

one key thing is your landing page. if its your own site, make some basic changes to text and you should be ok.

i cant give out all the secrets

Make sure your ads are distinctive and catchy but still clearly define the benefits of your product.

Hone your keyword lists until they are as tight as possible and then hone them more.

Increase your bid to raise your ads position.

Watch what your successful competitors are doing and try to put your own spin on their ideas.

    Good Luck.

Loads of things you should do:

    1) I'd recommend for most niches not using broad matching - just phrase and exact, especially since google introduced expanded broad match a while back. (like I say, this is true for most niches, not all)

    2) make sure your keyword is in your ad title

    3) make sure the keyword is mentioned at least once in your ad text.

    4) use 'power' words in your ad copy - i.e. text like Buy Now, etc

    5) I've always found that capitalising the words - i.e. 'Buy My Product' instead of 'Buy my product' has always worked for me

    6) if you have a large campaign the use dynamic keyword insertion - to use it try having a look at this: http://www.redflymarketing.com/blog/dynamic-keyword-insertion-the-ultimate-guide/ - BUT be careful with it or you'll end up with ads like those stupid ebay ads that don't make sense

    7) try different steps with your display url, such as removing the www. at the beginning of it and / or adding your keyword after your domain, i.e. 'yourdomain.com/Widgets'
