How to increase CTR in the SERPs?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by Matthew Sayle, Nov 1, 2015.

Besides the obvious, getting to the #1 spot, what are some practical ways for websites on the first page of Google to increase their CTR?

If a site is getting 1,000 impressions but only 5 clicks, what can be done to increase that?

Can't wait to hear your suggestions!

I don't think you guys understand the question.

In this case, the website would already be ranking for a specific keyword, just not getting enough clicks by searchers.

The ad placement, colour, ad relevance, ad display type would all make a difference it can be a bit hit and miss!

The context within the content could be made stronger in terms of encouraging viewers to seek more knowledge from the ad's.

Google is going to restricted every off page topic step by step. So here's some suggestions for you
    1. Do all On page tactic on your website.
    2. Re-arrange your website with lots of quality content.
    3. Do some analysis what the visitors are really interested in and then re-arrange your meta title and meta description with attractive words.

This is what has worked for me with Adsense CTR:
    1. Use the optimal link colors
    2. Place your ads within the content. Make them blend in.
    3. Use mobile ads for mobile browsers. Use Javascript to switch ad sizes to match devices. Most of my visitors use high-end mobile devices (by a huge margin compared to desktop browsers)
    4. Block ads that you know your visitors wouldn't be interested in (easy to do if most of your traffic comes from particular region)
    5. Place the ads "above the fold"...as close to the top of the page as possible.

Add such keywords in your website or blog for which users make searches like if you are running a blog of technology then focus at technological keywords and after that optimize those keywords in search engines and in this way you'll get best possible results.

This basically answer your question @Matthew Sayle

The Title tags and Meta descriptions are the ones that are visible to the searchers. Make sure yours stand out.

CTR in SERP comes from meta description and title. You need to have a title and description that stand out.
You can use trail and error method and try different ones until you see results.
