how to increase connection limit ?? VPS Server

hi freinds

I am New On DigitalPoint comming for Help

i have a site who have havy traffic

but some day before i change Server now site on godaddy VDS
apache Software installed

server defolte connection limit is 100
sql server defolte connection limit 100

but i want to server defolte connection limit 200

becoz at a time on my site 100+ visitors are online

please help me in this

and body have tutorial so please provide or any tips

All your editable paramenters are in httpd.conf
You need to change the max clients value



Connect via SSH

nano /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf

service httpd restart

 

can you please tell me the step by step becoz i dont know the commands on ssh

i 1 time use VDS

 

ok first ... get putty (SSH clicnet for windows) ... put your connection params .. and once you login -..

nano /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf <------type this ...

if u don't have installed "nano" then u need to install it for example in centos type yum install nano
or Debian apt-get install nano or aptitude install nano

once installed .. and if u go to editor ... u can see many params there ...

go and find connection limit and increase the value ... then u can save the file
and type

service httpd restart

it should work ... but please

DO IT CAREFULLY!! u can crash your VPS if do anything wrong !

yep change your limit from /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf but I remember there is one another thing i.e. Server Hard Limit try increasing its value too.

Sure can, for the web server only though. Just need to use the "Include Editor" for Apache. In WHM go to:

Main >> Service Configuration >> Apache Configuration >> Include Editor

You will want it to be the last thing loaded, so, open up the "Post VirtualHost Include" section for All Versions, and then add in your changes. Save, and restart the server.

Ok, can you download your httpd.conf file using FTP? Download it if you do not know SSH. Then
1. Edit it using notepad (if you have a php editor , much better)(remember to backup it first).
2. Find MaxClients
3. Change it to your desired settings say 200 (currently it is set as 100 , according to your info above), only touch this numerical value, do not ever move or touch other syntax.
4. Click File and save as : httpd.conf ,remember to set, save as type: "all files"
5. Then upload it to the same location in your server using FTP.
6. Then restart your apache server

 

It sounds like you need to find a someone to manage your server for you. If you need your site online, its worth the little extra cost to have someone making changes that knows what they are doing.

this is limit for how much visitors online at a time on site ?

becoz on my site at 2 pm to 8 pm hi traffic all time 100-130 visitors online on site

but some visitors said site not open when 100+ visitors online on site

so i want increase server connection limit becoz i want max 150 visitors online on site at a time

my server have • 512 MB RAM Guaranteed / (2 GB RAM Bursted)

please tell me max how much sapport on my server connection lemet ?

and if i change 150 connection limit this is normal for the serer ?

my limit is RLimitMEM 1059002026
RLimitCPU 240



please tell me which value i change for make it 150 connection limit

Go to the bottom of the file, and type this:

MaxClients 150

Then, restart your httpd. A side note, there are many other variables that you should be looking into, do you know whether you compiled with any kind of mpm?

MaxClients 150

and restart my server is that ok ?
