Yes, this is one of the things I was thinking the other day too. If Alexa based it's ranking on it's toolbar, how reliable does it become? Compared to the size of the WWW, how many people use this toolbar?
Alexa rank totally depends on visitors as someone said. Even if you do not have much backlinks but a lot of visitors your alexa ranking will go on increasing
hm i have site's with less than 100 visitors a day with alexa rankings of 10k and lower so alexa ranking is crap but alot webmaster like it so a high ranking in alexa is good same a PR i have some site's no PR and big google traffic but for selling ads or the website self is PR very nice
it seems none understand what alexa wants. Your visitors must stay long at your website so you will get higher rank... And also but alexa tool at your website cause not all visitors browsers support alexa example : ie6. but also dudes. if ur website xxx.blogspot.com you will see blogspots alexa ! not yours ! so dont think that your alexa is very good ! so advertisement agencies dont care pagerank they care alexa , for this you could use alexa ranking otherwise its needless
Ya, I agree with that.. Some PTR Brokers have rejected my HQ blog because my alexa rangking was too bad
Forget about Alexa ranking. It's almost a useless parameter which has nothing to do with real traffic. It can easily be manipulated. You can get good Alexa ranking if you install its toolbar.
you can use software for improve your alexa ranking and install alexa toolbar in your comp usually it takes 3 days and you will going up but its risk to use software. but if you can use it with wise thats good for you
Well, you can download the Alexa Toolbar (biggest piece of crap adware on the internet), install it, and then click your link a billion times ... Once you're done with that, you can allow every script kiddie, hack, and crack floating around in the AWS Cloud to do whatever they want to your site and domain ... After all of that .. you might break 100,000 ... maybe .. Amazons Cloud Computing is a joke ... used and abused, it's full of all of what's nasty on the web. Chances are pretty good that your web host already has most of Amazons Cloud Computing Ip Ranges blocked ... so in the end .. you'll always be stuck with numbers like 500,000 on Alexa.
well, as far as i know alexa rank increases on your website update. The more you update your website the quicker your alexa will increase. However, there is one more way to increase alexa by installing alexa toolbar on different systems but should be on different IP and setting your website as homepage.
in my opinion one should not be woried about alexa ranking . when there are more visits to a site its alexa rank automatically increase.
I got one domain which has no alexa ranking at all. It's just weird because I got an amazon store installed on it and it's been more than 2 weeks. It's funny how my domains with no content get crawled and got better rankings. You guys have any idea why?
When talking about Alexa Ranking, some of the most powerful sites that I know of, as far as income generating, have alrexa ranks over 15mil, so in theory, Alexa Rank is not as important as alot of peopl e believe it to be. If you are running CPM or CPC, sure, generate traffic to your site and you will see your CPMs possibly rise a bit as wel. I dont recommend buying traffic as this is unsustainable, more emphasis on good old fashioned SEO is vital here. SEO is sustainable, buying traffic is not.
Here are 5 simple ways to improve your Alexa rating: -Install the Alexa toolbar or Firefox’s SearchStatus extension and set your blog as your homepage. -Put up an Alexa rank widget on your website. -Encourage others to use the Alexa toolbar. -Get friends to review and rate your Alexa website profile. -Create an Alexa category on your blog and use it to include any articles or news about Alexa
The PR and Alexa are the most important parameters that google judge your website. It is depend on the Back-Links of your website. The more Back-Links means more other websites vote for you. It is a positive effect to your website that google will treat seriously.
What people say about having to have the Alexa toolbar for Alexa to count your hits is BS. You can lower your score by proxy from servers that I am positive are not running any "toolbar". Don't believe everything you hear. Just make sure that you go to Alexa and register your site properly and give them all the data. You will see results if ANYBODY hits your site, not just toolbar owners. It takes a lot of hits and a lot of time.
