How to improve your SEO

Hi everyone, I'm quite new to all this webmastery stuff, and recently set up a website TattooWoo.com there are links to relevant pages in my signature. Anyhow the tattoo industry is very competitive especially for keywords like tattoos, tattoo, tattoo designs e.t.c

In the last few months I have been able to get on top of page 2 in google for the keyword phrase tattoo designs, and have a couple of top positions for "unique tattoo designs" and "free printable tattoo designs"

I am always writing blogs (well about 2 a day) and creating anchor links for keywords like tattoos, e.t.c but I just can't seem to get ranked anywhere for my crucial keywords like "tattoos"

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I hear there is a very good SEO book out right now, that I would like to get my hands on if anyone knows about it? Or even just a top notch book on seo.

You are probably having trouble ranking because you are trying to rank for terms that are very broad and competitive. You may want to try using keywords that are geo-targeted (attach a location) or use terms that are industry specific. I am not saying that tattoo is not industry specific...but try terms that not just the average Joe would know about your profession. Hope this helps!

Well what makes alot of it 10/10 or 7/10

 

I have put the importance based on various Papers, seo cheat sheet,IBP,WebCeo,etc.,..

I agree that, some parameters may not be 10/10, I will work on that !! Other than that do you have any inputs? what about the tool functionality?

Qualify backlinks will help you improve your SEO. If you can find BL from your niche, you will get good PR and maybe some extra visitors to your website

 

I also just want to increase visitors on my blog by way of improving SEO, And usually I just install a specific plugin
