Actually, I don't think that is such a bad idea..

let me explain, if nshadab were to offer to write content for people who are fluent in English, as you eslsociety obviously are (but you made a spelling mistake/omission ;) ), and the person that you wrote the content for corrected the errors and sent it back, you could probably pick up a lot more of the language. This could work because, you would know what you meant to write, the recipient would correct it to say what you meant it to say, and you would be able to see where your mistakes were and could learn from it.

Am I making sense at all?

Good examples of improving your English language:

    - Watch movies
    - Converse with people in English
    - Read English Books
    - Have a PenPal and exchange Emails
    - Simply take English classes

That's an excellent tip gerritpoel. Pen pals are really a great resource for learning the conversational style of a language, especially if you have one that's willing to work with you a bit. Movies, TV shows, and magazines are definitely great resources though. Another great source is to look at large Websites in English, especially if they offer translations or other language sites where you can compare stories to learn.

Best thing is to become fluent knowing a little set of words, verbs etc..
After that day by day you improve vocabulary by reading a lot
when you understand and speak faster you study the grammar.

    To improve speaking:
    friendsabroad.com,skypecast.com

    to improve reading:
digg.com, web forums, bbc and all english websites.

    to improve listening:
    eslpod.com

This is the method i'am trying and it is pretty good

Funny actually, because I'm 13 and I'm Dutch.

I learned 90% of my English of the computer games I played, and a small.. Lets say 8% of my English lessons on school. The other 2% was by experience (E.G. reading, writing, talking).
So you could say I learned in action :)

But I think that this is harder to do for older people... I don't know :)

I'll tell you how I learned English:
    - in school 1st-4th grade
    - lots and lots of Cartoon Network
This is when I was a kid in Romania. By the time I came to the US I was pretty good at it.
Watching Cartoon Network is probably better than movies, because all the dialogues are made for kids to understand.

To learn english quite efficiently, try to buy(or...) Rosetta Stone with the english learning Pack.

It has reading, writing, speaking and understanding exercices going through almost everything you need to get an understandable english. I used it to learn a bit of spanish and it was quite impressive.

I'd definitely recommend the 'penfriend' route suggested above - it is easier nowadays with email and you'll get that interactive element that literature or tv wont offer. I am from the UK and email people all over the place, and sometimes talk on the phone...and even bag a cheap holiday out of it :p.
Just be confident and keep practicing...and good luck!

Read, speak, and listen to english and it'll all come eventually. It takes time to learn english as it is one of the hardest languages to learn. I never had to really learn it as I was born and raised in the US but just keep workin at it
