how to improve this template

hi ,
i am making a template for my website and i am designing it all on fireworks first. I have made most of the basic page but i thing it looks to plan i as it is going to be a site were people can watch flash movies i feel it needs to have some images or omething to make it look a bit more appeling but i dont know what.
please have a look at it and if you have any ideas please post them here.

I think the outer glow around the text in the navigation menu (latest news) looks unattractive and makes it hard to read. I think the rest of the template looks cool.

i get what you mean and i think i will change that but i think it needs some images of something but i dont know what.

can you help?

 

As the others have said. Get rid of the glowing effect on all text.

If your site is going to be a video viewing site, you don't need images it will just add clutter. The videos themselves will serve as the images.
Look at any other video site for inspiration and layout ideas. YouTube, VideoJug, MetaCafe, FunnyorDie ... etc.
None of them use images. Your goal should be to create a site that focuses on getting people to view your videos and not be distracted by the site's design.

 

don't just stick to one color..I think it's a little bit boring and make me feels to leave out form that page.

maybe you could add one or more colors like pink and maybe orange for that design?

text:use the rounded shape text for your typography like Vagrounded

and if you want to take a look the right color and how to choose the right color for your site, maybe you want to take a look at my blog ReezluvDesign search for the topic web inspiration and good color combination there

 

it would be good if u decrease the bright reddish tint...try using light sky blue colour...

here it is with the suggestions i have used another colour and added the rounded text i also have put some sort of image on the bottom which is only there to add a picture to it and if anyone could think of a good image to split up the page please tell me.
