How to improve the trust rank of your site

What do you do to improve the trust rank attributed to your website by search engines?

Here are some of the things that I do:

*try to engage visitors to stay longer on my site, visit as many pages as possible - in order to reduce bounce rate, increase time spent on site, increase the number of page views
*obtain guest articles and contextual links from high quality industry-relevant sites
*build brand names instead of keyword-based site names
*stimulate visitors to share/like/tweet/etc. my content and my pages as intensely as possible
*accumulate backlinks from relevant high DA sites, obtain placements on as many high PA pages as close to their main page as possible
*strive to link out to relevant unique content sites (ones that certainly have high quality relate content) - but not necessarily linking to the "big dogs" that everyone knows about
*I use as many images as possible - some people will find me for images, which too get shared sometimes etc.

...and a few others things as well.

What else do you do to earn trust?

There are 3 simple things that I know for a fact affect the TrustRank positively:

    - domain age - nothing you can really affect but as your domain gets older it will give a boost to the TrustRank
    - adding new relevant content and updating old one - not sure if the guest articles would do you any good here, especially if they exist somewhere else around the web. Fresh, self-written content with author insights and in-depth information is always the best way.
    - backlinks from relevant and authoritative websites - not talking about hundreds of DoFollow links of paying someone to add many links at once. A natural link network with relevant linking buddies is the way to go.

So yeah...nothing so different from doing proper SEO - good content and quality links rule the TrustRank also ;)

Is it really the domain age or site age that counts?
I own old domains that never had a site hosted, I wonder if merely the domain age is enough.

Domain age alone is not enough, other factors are necessary, Rado_ch and Mr.Dog have covered most of them.

Backlinks from authoritative websites - factor which affects the most.
    I tested before.
At first website I put only relevant and thematic links with a large percentage of matching keywords.
On the second - just links from authoritative not very thematic resources.
One link from thematic resource with PR 3 have more influence for your trust rank than other link with PR 5.

Just to add something... yes, it's not enough, but for a new website it's almost impossible to boost TR. So according to me, it's the most important! ;)
