I get about 1.5 to 2.5 percent CTR.

Not great, but I get right around a thousand uniques of long tail search traffic per day. I have tested and tweaked it to no end using Yeildbuild (free service now by the way, highly recommend it). Set up a few ad zones and let the service tweak your ads for you.....

 

I think you're doing fine. 1-3 CTR is good. I know people who have a constant CTR of 0,25%

Your traffic comes from different sources, which is very important. Don't depend on one source of traffic.

Try to play a little with ad placement for an even better CTR.

you should try to experiment on ads placement to increase your CTR. but first you need to have a good amount of traffic to your website..
