Submit your site in UK search engines. Go for Uk blogs or directories to submit your site. Do competitor analysis for your site based on your targeted keyword.

The TLD of your url plays an important role in ranking, so your website with a .co.uk url who always be in better off than your website with a .com extention on google.co.uk.

It is Google's effort to achieve relevancy and for this google uses the principles of geo targeting.

Also the physical location of the web hosting server where your website is hosted is important. So if it is outside the UK get it hosted with a UK web hosting firm.

Try and get as many inbound links (thematic off course) from website that have a .co.uk extension as it would indicate to Google that your target market is UK. There are other ways of geo targeting and you could explore those.

    Hi,

Try to get backlinks with your target keywords.

As, if your keyword is "ABCD" then try to put this keywords with title description (avoid keyword stuffing).

Write article and get backlinks from your signature box and try to put link there with "ABCD" anchor text.

Regional directory + above process will push your ranking just after few weeks.

    Thanks :)

Use webmaster tools to tell google that your domain is geotargetted to UK. Use keyword anchored backlinks which include UK, England, GB or whatever term you are using

This has happened the second time. Thank you lissie.

Yes Google webmasters tool has an option where your set your geographical location. A way of telling Google that your domain is meant for UK. I however have not found this to be very effective. It would also be adding your business in Google local business center. Another way of telling google that you are local to that place.

All these factors would help you achieve what you set out for. Best of luck :)

Specifically target geo-targeted traffic. submit your site to local directories, find local bookmarking and networking sites and be active participant in them. register in local business listings like yellowpages etc...
