How to improve ranking both in google and in alexa now?

What kind of traffic do you get from the engines ??
A majority of your visitors might not have the alexa tb installed
I wouldn't be too worried about alexa if I got good enough traffic from the engines.

 

buying text links, directory submission, exchanging links with relevant sites. this will help you improve listings

You should improve your content and build one way links to your site for improve your ranking on search engines.

i would say that there are many ways for google rankings. Target the right keywords and build links for them. Dir submission is a cheap way, that i would prefer for easy keywords. Buy some expensive links from directories (of high page strength) and also blogspot. Prefer permanent links!. Unique fresh content is good!

Put a signature link in your forum posts for starters.

 

Unique content is the key issue.
All other stuff mentioned come alone if you have unique content.

Alexa is just a guide to how much traffic a site is receiving. Getting high google rankings is much more beneficial for your site in terms of traffic.
