In the distant 2005th Google patented a technology that clarifies all as to what principle are ranked sites in their search. Perhaps some of this information seems useful.

On how long you have registered your domain name? If only for a year - it's not good for ratings ... Why? Because most of the so-called. "Spamsaytov" recorded just one year, not more. Domains registered for a longer period is likely to say that the owners of resources seriously pursue legitimate aims. This is just one of the few unusual aspects to Google, may take into account when indexing and ranking sites exhibiting.

As I learned about this? Google published a patent on March 31, 2005, where there are many interesting things about the ranking of sites. Read it, if you're averse to improve your ranking on the search giant. Days zaspamlennogo Google impossibly long gone, Google opened a real hunt for spam sites. Do not need to become a target of the hunt. The following describes the facts, which is very useful when creating new and optimization of the old sites.

For anyone of us is no secret that the basis for issuing the rating is the number of external links to your resource. Now there's infa details about how it works. It turns out, is not only quantity, but quality links, as well as the content of their anchor text (link text). Differently now reads age of the site. With the sandbox - "sandbox" - a filter for the young sites, determining age is not from the date of registration of the domain, but with the advent of the first external link to the resource. Google keeps track of new links and changes to the old rate of new inbound links, as well as their life expectancy. Taking this into account, we can conclude that the fast acquisition of a large number of external links can be regarded as a promotion search engine spam site. In the past, those "glorious" days when pages have been overloaded with links. Accumulate links are slowly but surely. No need to buy thousands of links, it will serve a disservice. Please be careful with what and whom you exchange. Please be careful with what and whom you exchange. Anchor links should be different for different sources, but still be logically related to the content of your site. You should not use the same keywords in all links to your site. It will be seen as the anchor-spam butane cigarette lighters.

The fact is that less is better. Fewer quality links will bring you much more good than hundreds or thousands of low quality. In addition, the life expectancy of certain links above on proven resources. Strive to ensure that the audience remained on site as long as possible, making it as much as possible transitions. Try to force users to add your resource as a favorite. Change the anchor text of links, and most importantly add fresh content regularly! Register new domain names for at least 2 years. Follow these tips and your site is sure to rise in the ranking of Google. Good luck!

Good post! I added reviewing links and checking the anchor text to my ‘things to do list’ very quickly.

    Question:

I am going to use my example, since I am familiar with it and you can relate to other SEO operations to it. For the last 8 years or more, My site was consistently in the top 5 and just fell off the face of Google (March 2011). My target key words are ‘DJ Pittsburgh’. My plan is to have links that relate to the wedding industry locally and nationally.

Since I am only interested in area driven searches, like most local business are; does Google rank local links the same as national links and how to they relate to area based searches?

    Thanks
    DjOtto
