It's absolutely right that by writing great content and getting links really ameliorates the rankings in SE's. But now tell me, If i wish to have a website or web blog for which I'd strange to the subject of the blog, still i want to go ahead with that site/blog just because of effectiveness of keyword in url..
Then explain me how WRITING GREAT CONTENT helps in this issue ?

This is my website.. http://mobileremix.blogspot.com and its 3 month old with 200 avg unique visitors per day.

in just 80 day i got 11000 visitors and continue to build...

But my Page Rank is Zero..

if your site is not able to have good content or you are limited with it then create articles and post them to article directories.

2) social bookmarking

Do this regularly there must be 300 bookmarks every month for your site.

3) Directory submission

Daily 20 directory submission will hit the target.
4) Forums,blogs
take part in Q&A and other sites .use signature with link


if you do above for 2 month surely your site will get rank higher..
so..lets nurture your site rank higher.

Yes, most of the site owners looking for link exchange require PR. But for me, I look for traffic for more conversions and sales.
