I am faced with this problem. My blogs lost page rank slipping from PR4 to PR3. Some of my sites stayed steady. I want to know how to improve page rank in a systematic manner.
Google's Page Rank is based on the number and quality of your backlinks. So in order to increase your Page Rank you have to build more backlinks. For best results you should get some backlinks from authority homepages with high PR and not just internal pages
Why are you concentrating on PR. It is of no relevance to SERPs.... concentrate on building backlinks & posting quality content and your PR will naturally increase (but don't even give it another thought).
I disagree. Although pr may not be as important to SERPs as before, I don't think it if of "NO" relevance to it. PR still have its value to SERPs IMO, just a small percentage.

The changes made in page rank will be based on the backlinks of your website. Get more quality links from high PR sites which help to gain the page rank of your site.
I would totally agree about building backlinks but not any old backlinks its often seen as better to have the links to a higher PR sites and also in the same niche as your own site its better than low quality links.PR does not carry the Kudos it once did but it is still worth having and can be of benifit when either selling the site you can command a higher price or for selling links on your own site the higher the PR the higher the price you can charge. To me the Holy grail and life blood of any site is the amount visitors to the site this is the vital ingrediant that brings in the 'Wonga'
It could be that the PR update is fluctuating, but I would not worry about PR too much, concentrate on adding good content to your site.
Constantly build backlinks which is relevant and worth it. Do not just build dummy backlinks which are not even counted by Google.
PR is overated what you have to ask is if your rankings dropped for keywords? Just continue building backlinks to relevant sites.
