I think a scary template design would do a lot for it. Right now the one you are using is O.K., but it does not match the subject. I think a grand horror theme of some kind would make everyone who visits stay and read. JMO
Apart from creating unique informative posts, you can: use the all in one seo pack and add descriptions to your homepage, create an archives page, create an about us page, add more functinlity related to your niche of the domain, possibly think about changing your perma link settings, (you have the default ones at the moment), install the maxblogpress-ping-optimizer if you have not already. I would also recommend turing off directory listsing and password protecting the wp-admin diretory.
As I have seen your blog, I think you should create longer posts and add more keywords. What kind of readers are you attracting anyway? Although your posts are informative, you have no specific niche which will make it hard fro yout to promote it. By the way, I saw 2 ad blocks and I don't agree with a new blog using Google Adsense right away.
