I would advise you to first figure out your conversion percentage and then work towards a goal of +1% or +5% to motivate you to improve the overall %.

Begin trying advertising techniques such as PPC, forums, banners, an affiliate system, etc. Finding out which don't work for your site, bring you one step closer towards finding out what DOES work.

    Good luck.

How much useful SEO content do you have on your site? This will also help. I do a lot of SEO article writing for e-commerce clients, providing their readers a "library" of related info to discover on Google & enjoy reading.

However, the fastest way to get traffic is through a PPC program like Google AdWords.

Either way, consider offering a free report or guide so you can capture the email addresses of most of your site visitors. This way, you can stay in touch and sell to them down the line.

There are lots articles on this topic around the web.

On a non technical side; image! Make sure your site looks good and has strong branding potential. As for driving traffic... that takes time. As the other posters stated SEO is great, but slow to start, CPC is fast but extremely expensive.

Use google adwords, it able to bring higher conversion rate traffic to you . Beside that you need to find more traffic on other website such as forum, blog, bulk purchase website to help you promote and bring traffic, use social network to bring traffic and target on SEO . You also can go for affiliate marketing but it may costly if not effective.

Test and optimise your current website to see what design/layout... your customers love the best! Use tools such as Google Website Optimizer and Visual Website Optimizer. You will be surprised what a huge impact in terms of sales a different colour or a home page layout can have.

Once you've done that get into marketing. SEO (medium to long term), PPC (short term), SMO (short, medium, long term), or anyting else that can help you drive more customers. Always track your progress, and optimise your website.

I would say there are three important points you must pay attention to:

    1. Products you sell and how they compete with other similar stores. Do you sell cheaper or not? Are customers really interested in your products? Just make sure your products have potential to be sold.

    2. Traffic. Launch advertising campaigns, be a participant of relevant communities, etc.

    3. Is your site usable? Does something prevent customers from sales? When do they leave your site?

All these points need to be investigated to increase sales.
