I have been told that these days Google Page Rank is irrelevant and that I should focus on Domain Authority. If indeed its true, how can I improve domain authority? I have 8 years old website with DA 33. I think its pretty bad. How can I improve it? Is good backlinks the only factor to improve DA? I also wanted to know if high domain authority helps in search ranking?
It's true that since PR is dead people are now focusing on Page Authority, Domain Authority, Trust Flow, and other metrics. If I remember correctly, good solid backlinks will increase your DA. If you're at a 33 right now then you can still build it up way more.. Expand where you're getting backlinks from and it should increase.. Guest posting, social network posting, web 2.0 posting..etc.
What should I look when building backlinks? I mean during the Page Rank days, I used to try and get links from pages with some PR. What should I focus on now? Should I check the DA of the website or PA of the page from where I am getting backlink? I share my content to Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Linkedin and Pinterest. Is that enough or would you recommend some other platforms as well.
Social networking platforms only allow "nofollow" links that doesn't pass the link juice. You should look for opportunities to build 'dofollow' links that can pass the link juice which will ultimately improve your site's DA.
The Domain Expert of any website doesn’t be determined by their back-linking alone, there are numerous other metrics you should be careful which rank way up with Google. Here is some method below * Quality Content * Deep Linking * Go Social and so on. May it helps you.
