How to improve Cost per click

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by adzeds, Apr 23, 2010.

I have recently added adsense to one of my sites.

It is a niche that has a competitive adwords market and is popular.

I have a click through rate of around 3% which is not a bad start but the price per click seems really low!

What is the best way of improving the cost per click?

I dont believe that the niche is the problem!

I think that I might need more content on my pages though! Am adding some now to see if it creates an improvement.

It's very important for what keywords your article is optimized.

I don't know if this is true, but I heard that if visitors comes to your site using keywords like "product name review", "buy product name", "where to buy product name" and etc. , and if he clicks on your ads, this will generate bigger cost per click, because the visitor has value and most likely he's looking to buy stuff.

    Think about this.

And of course - traffic is always your friend.
    Good luck!

Yes. It depends on which ads visitors clicks. Some advertisers pay more , some less. You never know..

3% is not a bad CTR.

It could be just the niche you are in. Also you want to be sure that you aren't being "smart priced", but if you have a CTR of 3% I don't think thats the issue. Also try to target some of the higher paying keywords for your web content.

Also, test the CTR of each individual adsense block. Because perhaps the most clicked one is not the first one in the html code, so your ecpm could be improved by having the first adsense block in your html to be the most clicked one, since ads are displayed in order.

It depends on the advertiser budget. They can offer more per click and less per click

Just pump your website with Hot keywords and that's it! Before I use mesothelioma and student college loans and type this 20x and I have 0.20 cents per click!
