You shd also use alexa toolbar because it's helpful and obviously u'll visit ur site regularly for administration purpose. Alexa IS Crap...their stats suck..infact they use GA to track stats on THEIR website...so alexa is not a true measure of your site.look elsewhere..GA is the way forward. infact alexa depends on visitors who visit your site with their toolbar instlled!
THAT'S NOT TRUE .by making your site as your default browser page wont work anyway because each time you visit your site ,your ip gets traced by search engines and it seems not a different one

Install the Alexa toolbar and tell everyone you know to install it too, that way Alexa will count the hits when you visit the site
