    It seems to me that this might be a good consulting niche'.

    Not Search Engine Optimization, but AdSense Optimization.

    I haven't seen anyone offer this as a specific service.

    Ah... Cheers, I had wondered if that would work - I will do it meself now - having the top banenr is pretty pants as it always just has bloggy links which I find really annoying.

    Just a quick update: day three of the new placements and the 5X CTR is holding. I am just amazed...

    Get used to it.

    Remember that the Eye Track III Research is based on human behavior, and that's something that hardly changes.

    Now you just have to find new & better ways to drive visitors to your site and increase your traffic.

    One way design ads background color as site background color;

    Another way just opposit,set ads background color quite different as site background.

    And chang the 2 ways always.

    The old placement vs the new placement is almost a no brainer.

    Most people phase out the ads when they're just below or imbedded into site navigation. When it's in the content and blended well, it catches the readers eye.

    Good move on the change and I'm glad to hear the CTR is up for you.

    Oh, and to whomever mentioned about placing the adsense code in the blogger template, that was me who wanted it placed in the latest post (not necessarily in the last three posts). There's no real way to do it for just the latest post. You can see how I have it done in my blog (click just underneath my user name on this post).

    Go to template and check out a <p> ... </p> tag for <post-body>
    You will see a line like this
    <p class="post-body">

    Put your AdSense code juss below that line or whereever you want the ads (top or bottom, I preferred Top)..

    If you want to see how I did it...
    click here, right click on the page to view source code for the Adsense ads And search for "post-body" text in the code, and you would get an idea, how I did it. Please get back to me, if you have any doubts.

    Interesting note: My lingerie blog was up at one of the many "adult" traffic link pages. This leads to an avalanche of p0rn hounds who are not at all my targets....guess what, the CTR drops by half while the tide comes through...its back up now.

    It appears the AS targetting works....
