I'm still trying to figure out how to improve my rankings for http://nortonrelease.com.

Here is what I have done so far:

    search friendly URL
    optimize keywords on articles
    optimize post titles
update regularly (3-4 times a week)
use Google Trends for relevent content

Despite all that my average page views is between 57-100 page views a day. I'm quite frustrated because websites that I have started in the past six months are getting thousands of page views a week while this one is still struggling to get a full 500 page views a week.

What am I doing wrong or more importantly what am I not doing.

I'm willing to pay $$$ to get this fully search engine optimized as this is my first website and not interested in selling it.

    Thanks alot.

UPDATE: The website will go up to 500 page views a day but that's only when I get something real good such as three articles I had. One on some nude sculptures of Michelle Obama, that Larry Flint porn film mocking Sarah Palin and Barack Obama's knocking the pay bonuses to Wall Street execs.

Try to get backlinks and submit to social bookmarking sites.
What's the site's PR? The greater the PR, the better the SERPs/

You need to do three more things:

    1. Get backlinks.
    2. Get backlinks.
    3. Get backlinks.

You need to get a decent ranking in Google and other search engines to get more traffic. It looks as though you have done all the necessary on-page stuff but this is no longer enough. On-topic links from other sites are the best but don't be fussy. Any link is a bonus.

do a site:yourwebsite and see if you have any backlinks.

as many people pointed out, you need backlinks and make them everyday.

google loves backlinks as it seems.

Hi, my account in Digg and Shouwire was recently blocked. I'm asking them why but they are not responding to my queries. Is there a limit to the number of articles you can submit to Digg?

    I have a question too.
I have a site about 3 months old with not many hits, it has been getting better, as I learn more about SEO
I have done a lot of Social bookmarking, (on major as wellas pliigs, scuttles etc, a few articles on major article sites, and pretty friendly search url etc, but I too do not get a lot of traffic. If I do site:myurl, I have like 277, if I do link:myurl I have 4..... why only 4? I have many backlinks, but google says 4. I think I have something like 1400 on yahoo. I guess it is harder for google to pick these backlinks up? I would also pay to have someone look at my site and work with me to get traffic, or I could do work for someone and they can teach me? PM me if anyone is interested in helping me out, thanks

You don't mention about links. :) To rank well on search engines, you need to have votes thru the gathering links from related sites. Get more relevant ones using your targeted keywords as your anchor text.

Put more time in your linkbuilding activities. You many also consider changing your target keywords. Choose the ones that are less competitive but have good number of searches.

Last time I checked my PR was 3. And my site is indexed daily and hourly by the Google bots.

That's just the problem, I'm not sure because since this is a news/politics site there are hundreds of keywords I could use.

    Thanks for the info.
