The site www.growthhormone.me is constantly having page time outs, is this possibly something did to the domain or site with the wordpress? Why does this keep happening.

Do you know of third party diagnostic software or tools that can be run on the server 3 or 4 x a day to check for these problems?

    Please help me.

do you have access to the server logs? What HTTP server do you use? Apache? Nginx?

You could monitor your website with monitoring service like Pingdom with 1 minute interval - if a problem occurs, you'll have the error message as well as a traceroute from the time of the error.

Also are you sure that the page is not down just for you ? I've visited your website a few times today and there was no problem.

Update: I see that your server load is too high. The load could be caused by another website or application.

If you have root access to the server, run "top" to check what is causing the high load.

You should check out newrelic.com. It's a free and quite advanced web/server/application monitoring service and it should be easy to find out the cause of the issues with it. Of course that doesn't replace a good sysadmin, which you should also have if you run your own server (or go for a managed server).

Also you should use a firewall, and you could use ossec to help you detect intrusion attempts

You can try to increase max_execution time for your scripts and ask your hosting provider to give you the explanations. The timeouts can be connected with the high load average on their shared server. If you PM me the details about your site, I will be able to identify the cause of the site problem.

In your public_html directory you should see a file named "error_log" - look in this file & it will tell you exactly where the problem is, among others if there's any other errors being reported.
