Can somebody please tell me how can we identify that whether a link from a particular site is a "no follow" or " do follow" Thanks Nikhil
"no follow" links are usually crossed. You'll find a couple on this page. Also such links look different in the HTML code of the page. For more details visit http://www.kenkai.com/nofollow-link-tag-nofollow-tag.htm or http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/seeing-nofollow-links
You can use softwares like seo elite to check the backlinks and the report will detail the nature of backlink i.e. it is whether do follow or no follow! Remember no follow link will not give you the advantage of improving your PR
If you use Firefox, there is an add-on called Search Status. Just download it and it will show you the details of link - whether it's nofollow or not.
I always just do a "View | Source" and then search the text for the link and see if it has the nofollow tag. However, I think I should also be checking the Meta tags at the top too, right?
I use a firefox plugin called "Firefox SEO" - I think it's from http://seobook.com and it basically highlights all the nofollow links on a site. It's pretty cool because it's all there in front of you!
Really that is the easiest method, I personally use a grey color to high light all the no follow links on the page and It really works like a charm.
I use SEO Quake, a plugin for FF. It strikes out the no-follow links on a webpage. Make a search on G if you need it.
