Please help me. How to host means upload first html file in file manager after domain booking. Will domain booking service provider provide me user id and password to open file manager using cuteftp. I have worked in tripod. It provides file manager option in which we can easily upload html and other necessary file to run a web page from computer but don't know how to upload when we book domain. Kindly write me in detail.
I'm not sure if I understand this, but here goes... Get yourself FileZilla (Free) or a similar FTP client. Add your site's ftp and account name and password to site manager. EX: ftp.yourwebsite.com or yourwebsite.com Go to the www or public_html directory of your site and upload your files. That's it!
From my own perspective I assume delhidon has been dealing with hostings services such as geocities, lycos, fortune city and so on, you know, those needing to upload content via file managers. I would suggest purchasing your own TLD (Top Level Domain) and host your site on a bannerless hosting service if you are serious about your booking service. If you have no budget you can go for free, as in example I can provide you with free bannerles hosting with PHP support and FTP access, whether using your own domain or a free subdomain with my own TLD at www. trustedhosting.info Not only my hosting services but many other offer you a control panel with either a file manager to upload your content or the appropriate settings to configure your FTP client and access it. If your current hosting offers this and you don't want to change, browse the available features at you actual control panel to find how you can upload your files, otherwise follow this easy video tutorial adequating your host FTP settings
If you have bought a domain name - it doesn't necessarily indicate that you have got web space to host your site. Infact with a domain name you don't get anything other than control for name servers, url redirection or likes. To host a website, you would have to buy web hosting space or look for free web hosting options. Web hosting providers give you control panels (which include File manager like tripod / geocities). For the seasoned folks though, ftp works far better then file managers. HTH, GS
