I am currently having PR4, does it hard to archieve PR5? Seen like PR 5 get better deal if compare to PR4

Given the assumed dampening factor of 0.85 and the base-6 system for each PR level (both of which I believe are accurate, but cannot be proven), a single PR4 and a single PR3 would do the job, as long as the link to your site was the only followed link on each of those pages (including internal links).

    Other ways to get there:

    -- 7 PR3s
    -- 42 PR2s
    -- 252 PR1s

Really that's all useless though, because it's highly unlikely you'd be the only link on a given page. If there are other links on the page, you'll need to take the above numbers and multiply them by (links + 1) to see how many you'd need. For example, if those pages all had 10 links on each of them (plus yours), you'd need to multiply by 11 to see how many you'd need. Using those numbers, you'd need:

    -- 77 PR3s
    -- 462 PR2s
    -- 2772 PR1s

Those are probably more reasonable numbers, since most pages have plenty of internal links to compete with your link for the juice.

Get roughly six times the inbound links you have now and you'll move up.

    Better deal? Huh?

What is your current PR? Would you like to jump from pr0 to pr4!

@mickmel - Do you know these calculations are right?

Get Back links from the >PR4 sites, and also update content regulerly. Whatever the case have to wait until 3 months to get some PR.

i was wondering, if you have a site that has let's say PR2 on every page, does a link in the sidebar count as the number of pages you've got?

i mean.. the main page is PR3 and then 7 pages are PR2.. you put a link on the side or footer, is this 1x PR3 + 7x PR2 ?

    regards

Nope. As I said, those assume a dampening factor of 0.85 and a base-6 system for each PR level, but no one knows for sure what the real numbers are. Those seem to be about right, but no one knows for sure.

To show up in the toolbar, yes. PR is calculated (and used) every day, but only shows up in the toolbar about three times/year.

Yep. In terms of raw PR, it can be a bunch of links from the same site. However, in terms of getting results in the serps, that's far less useful.

Yes... It's a Quarterly Google PR Update.. you can get +1PR or -1PR depending of your website's status.

While it's true that it's roughly a quarterly update, there is no limit to the rise or fall you can have. I've seen sites move up (or down) but as many as four points in a single update.
