How to help prevent PPC fraud.

I spend $2000 - $3000 a month on PPC campaigns. We turn that into $20-$30K in sales a month so we're not angry by any means. Someone told me recently that 20% or so of what we pay is fraudulent clicks from competitors or Adsense scams. I see a lot of sites offering click fraud prevention. Has anyone here had any success with any of these services or are they just a scam? I rely on google's software catching clicks from competitors and fraud. I know I can block urls. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to help slow down click fraud or is it just part of the cost of doing business?

My firm are involved with a service called clickreport.com It allows PPC users to independently log their PPC traffic and even display graded
warning popin messages to people who abuse PPC adverts. Could give that a try.
