How you avoid or handle telemarketers?
Now a days telemarketing is aggressive way to contact the end user, I am sure many of us may be receiving these calls every day.
They some how find your cell numbers and call you any time (they do not care about lunch, dinner or other time)
How you handle them or avoid them?, what are you doing in that case?
Share some tips to avoid them or handle them properly.
    G!

I think best way of getting rid of them is just tell them that you don't have any money to buy there product. They will not call again.
Or ask them for a telemarketing job. Tell them that you are job less:D

I have two solutions and it has always worked.

    • I Don't Speak English

    - They put me on their "Language Barrier" disposition

    • Put Me On Your 'Do Not Call List'

    - They log my call into the companies 'Do Not Call' list

Ask some critical type of question about their products

so they will remove you from their list :):)

Since there are so many Indians in here and since most telemarketers are in Indian these days I'm going to keep those to myself as they will use the tactics we divulge to try and get around them. I think the OP is probably a telemarketer himself trying to find out how to better annoy us.

Listen to everything they have to say, sound really interested and when it comes to payment say you don't want it anymore that pees them off more than hanging up as they have wasted there time trust me ;)

I act like I'm interested and drop little hints that I'm just wasting their time. If the telemarketer works on comission they'll move on as soon as they realize I'm screwing with them. If they get paid hourly then it's a safe bet there's a higher-up listening in on the conversation who will cut the call off when they realize I'm just chewing up time.

Wasting their time is the most effective way to actually get removed from their lists.

You could ask them for tips on SEO and if they could recommend a good viagra blog. You can also ask what foods are good with curry, telemarketers love curry so they should have a long list for you on that. Or you could just tell them you'll buy what they're sellin if they'll eat a big juicy hamburger.

Haha another alternative is unplugging your phone... can be effective if they won't leave you alone. Or you can ask them really weird "out there" questions. Like "sorry what is the radius of the moon?" "Do I carry the one when i convert it to a fraction?" "Is it a left or a right if i want to go to the supermarket?" "Thats very interesting, do you now have a moment to talk about my product... we are now offering all of our caller the opportunity to enter a competition to win a mobile phone..." :p

Just submit your phone number to the national Do Not Call list (in USA). Im not sure how that sort of thing works in other countries though.
