How to grow my event website?

    Hello,
I'm working on an event website for one specific target audience in one country.

We're seeing some initial tracktion, mostly from Google and cold email outreach to event organizers.
The cold email outreach works ok, but it quite time consuming.

Our most important growth factor at the moment would probably be, to get more organizers to sign up and post their events on our website.

What are your ideas for experiments on growing into that direction?

    20 - 40 visitors each day
    1k+ cold emails sent
ca. 200 email replies (199 happy, 1 neutral - about free advertisment)

    That's what we're doing currently.
Just wanted to brainstorm options on how to scale / gain more user generated content. :)

Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Provide a User-Friendly Platform: Ensure your event website is easy to navigate and user-friendly. Organizers should be able to quickly find the necessary information and understand the process of submitting their events. A well-designed and intuitive platform will attract more organizers to use your website.
    2. Offer Additional Value: Give organizers a reason to choose your website over others by offering additional value. This can include features like event promotion, marketing assistance, analytics, or integration with ticketing platforms. Adding benefits can attract organizers to use your platform and help grow your website's reputation.
    3. Develop Partnerships: Collaborate with local event organizers, businesses, and community groups to establish partnerships. Reach out to them and explain the benefits of listing their events on your website. Building relationships and partnerships within the event industry can help increase the number of organizers willing to post their events on your platform.
    4. Promote Your Website: Create a marketing strategy to raise awareness of your event website. Utilize online marketing channels such as social media platforms, targeted advertisements, and email marketing campaigns. Consider attending industry events and networking with organizers to promote your website directly.
    5. Offer Incentives: To encourage organizers to use your website, consider offering incentives such as discounted or free event listings for a limited time. This can help attract a larger pool of organizers and establish your website as a preferred platform.
    6. Engage with the Community: Actively engage with your target audience and the event community. Participate in relevant forums, social media groups, and online discussions related to event planning. Provide valuable insights, answer questions, and establish yourself as a knowledgeable resource. This can help build trust and credibility, leading to more organizers using your website.
    7. Collect Feedback and Improve: Use your platform to seek feedback from event organizers regularly. Ask for suggestions and implement improvements based on their feedback. Continuously enhancing the user experience can help retain existing organizers and attract new ones.

Have you tried LinkedIn outreach? You can run ads that display to people similar to your network, and reach out to them via cold outreach also.

I agree with @AmritaTA and I'd like to add the suggestion of doing paid ads. You can use an ad network to promote your website to relevant peers and the best part is that you get fast results as well as analytics. I'm not sure what ad formats could work for your website but you can test a few and see from there. Go for a multi-format ad network like Adstera, Exoclick, Mondiad, Clickadu... do your research. Hope this helps.

Its such a fine line between advertising and spamming honestly. Unfortunately, you can be banned without even deserving it. Its very hard to get traffic to a website these days. The internet feels like an exclusive club more than ever. Sending out emails might work but it is also annoying. You might want to go old school and get a booth at trade show kind of thing. Creating content and hoping the search engines eventually find you to be relevant is a long and arduous journey. In the end you need people telling their friends about you, so ask the local grocery if you can pay them to allow you to set up a table or something. Sounds weird but that kind of stuff might be less effort in the long run than worshipping the search engines. By the way, I think getting listed in Yelp is free.

The best way to grow your event website is to experiment and see what works best for you. Track your results carefully to see what's working and what's not.
