Hello friends i have a wordpress blog like exampleblog.wordpress.com with free byethost hosting. When setting up account it asked me the destination folder so i gave "roots".But when uploading plugins and themes it is saying unable to locate wp-content folder. So friends please help me in this problem.
Are you using the free hosted blogs at wordpress.com? If so, I don't think they allow you to upload plugins or themes. And they don't allow affiliate links.
No i am not using that my wordpress blog is hosted by byethost and i got plugin option to upload but while uploading it is saying unable to loacate wp-content and some times host error help me pls.
Have you tried with FTP? Or you can use your browser, log into your cpanel "File Manager". You'll find the wp-content in public_html (usually), or whatever your root directory is. The themes and plugins folder is in there.
in wordpress.com blogs you can not have folder option. Only in self hosted wordpress you will have options. Folder name will be fetched automatically when you install wordpress. you dont need to give any thing extra,
You are contradicting yourself. If you have a blog like example.wordpress.com, that is not a self hosted WP blog and you cannot add plug ins, and you don't have a host, your host is WP. You cannot set a free hosted WP blog up on a host. Show us the blog for us to better help you.
see ofcourse it is exampleblog.wordpress.com but i took byethost but not the domain so it remained as exampleblog.wordpress.com and i have option to add plugins and upload new themes.I have plugins option to upload, but the thing is when it is asking hostname, username, password i have given all the three correctly but it is saying unable to locate wp-content directory. This is my problem.
O.K., if I understand you correctly...it was a free hosted blog, and you purchased your own hosting, but not a domain and are now trying to set it up and add plugins. As long as it is on example.wordpress.com, it is a subdomain of wordpress.com. I don't know how you can self host that.
Let's just assume that you are self hosting on a subdomain. First you need to check that all of the installation files are present, especially wp-content.
