This is how I setup my websites/blogs I usually have a plan in place before hand for content and link structures. If you know nothing about that google it and get more information. This is for brand new sites, I am not sure if these steps would work on broken old sites. Ingredients: ********* Domain x1 Hosting x1 Articles, roughly 6 to 8 A theme and plugins (optional) Time: 8 hours or longer. Recipe: ****** Step 1: Setup your domain, hosting & blog. If you have your domain ready and have a good host like hostgator, setup the DNS on the domain go to hostgator and setup your blog using fanstastico. Step 2: Hide the domain and website from Google. This is Important! You don't want Google to see anything until everything is complete! Install a "maintenance" plugin and hide the site from search if your installation allows you to do so. Step 3: Setup you theme. You can choose any theme, if you're into adsense there are many MFA themes available. Heat maps http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/google-heatmap-2.htm If you want a fabulous looking site you can find cool themes here themeforest.net Low on funds? You can search the wordpress database wordpress.org/extend/themes or google free "your keyword" wordpress themes. I use thesis by diythemes, its my all time favorite theme to work with Step 4: Install your plugins. 1. Yoast Seo plugin (This is an all in one plugin, just awesome! It has a built in sitemap, 301 redirects and allows you to remove links from your sitemap!) 2. Social media like plugins (I like to use social plugins that incorporate G+) -Like plugins NOT Profile plugins, you should add social profile plugins but the like plugins are a lot more important. 3. Add any other plugin may want. Note: I love to use a plugin called "Widget Logic" it allow me to place difference widget items on any page without have to create a new sidebar with code. You just use conditional tags. Step 5: Setup your ping list. A good explaination of how to setup pings here.. www.allstuffweb.com/blog/wordpress/advanced/recommended-wordpress-ping-list-2013/ More links from forum members.. https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/super-clean-updated-ping-list-for-your-wp-blog.2651466/ https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/want-a-fast-seo-index-massive-list-of-ping-services-for-wordpress.2652512/ Step 6: Plan your link structure & setup permalinks. Turn your custom permalinks on. I usually use /%category%/%postname%/ Think about your categories and subcategories now, also think about your tags really hard too, you don't want to "over optimize" so researching this area thoroughly is a good idea! Get ideas and more information about this from around the web if you haven't done this already. Step 7: Setup your main pages. Main pages are terms of service, privacy policy, home page(if you're going to have a page as the home page instead of a post) contact us, about and any other page that might be important, like, if you have a shop. Step 8: Add 1-5 new posts. Setup a few blog posts before you publish your site to the world. Try make them relative to each other and start internal linking. Step 9: Create a twitter and facebook page. Do a basic twitter account setup and add you main link only. Create a facebook page do a basic setup and add you main link only, ask 25 of your friends to like the page then name it the same as your website or as close to it. Step 10: Make a few social media accounts(optional) I like to submit my content to sites like digg, reddit and stumble upon. They used to work great but I am not sure if they are as effective as they were. Pinterest is another good site if you plan on having a lot of cool images. Add friends on these sites if you have time. Step 11: Publish your blog! If you've done everything as above you can publish your blog now. Don't forget to "Allow Search engines!" Step 12: Submit your site to the search engines and install tracking codes. You can use plugins to do this, Yoast SEO plugins handles all of this for me. You can try other plugins and so forth. Step 13: Get linking! Now that you blog is live you can start linking to your site. Fo to twitter and drop links to your new posts and do the same on facebook. Go to reddit, diig and stumble upon and submit your new posts there too. Ask your friends to reshare. Need more links? More ideas here>>> https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/how-to-get-backlinks-for-my-website.2644626/#post-18511712 Step 14: Submit your RSS feed to feed directories. https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/8-rss-directories-that-all-work-and-no-registration-needed.2652532/ Step 15: Add a new post Now add a new post, this will activate the pings RSS feeds. Make sure to submit the post to your social sites as well. Step 16: Create a video. Create a video and submit it to Youtube link back to your site. It would be a good idea to post the video on your website too. Share the video on youtube and twitter too, I'd also submit it to the sharing websites. Step 17: Forum links Join forums related to your niche, add your website in your signature and post around 50+ posts. If you don't have time just hire someone to do it. This is also a good way to get traffic fast since people are curious and they'll click your signature if its appealing to them. Step 18: Check your stats after 7 days. After you've done everything above, check your rankings in Google, if you install a traffic tracker like "Statscounter" (FREE) you will be able to see where your traffic is coming from and if its from search engines. If you did everything correctly you should start ranking fairly quickly, however, sometimes it can take longer than 2 weeks. That's it, now you just have to focus on either writing more content or obtaining more links.
Well the approach is fine and effective as well but webmaster and analytics are important in terms of long term stay at google. Try to embed both of them to avoid and problem when google updates its panda.
That's step 12 > Submit your site to the search engines and install tracking codes. I didn't go into details because I presumed most people know about and how to install them. What I did forget that is quite important is anchor text for the any of the links. So where ever I say add your link, if you can, use your keywords for the links.
