Hello, I have a website where I sell Yahoo Answers. I have just started up but have already got some good feedback! So, I was wondering, how do I get some good potential customers to this website without backlinking because backlinking probably isn't the best idea for a website like this. For example, does anyone know of places where I am able to post my website and advertise what I am doing? Thanks for any feedback!

What is your niche? You could try posting ads on craigslist offering a free info product about your topic, if they give you their email address & name at your website.
All really good answers! Backlinks are key so you should create accounts on web forums and post helpful material. Also, I firmly stress social media like Facebook, Twitter, Linked In. It has proven really successful for my company and my clients, as well.
Try a link wheel, if not try and post it on Reddit or Digg but make try and make a unique title which will grab attention, don't be scared of using CAPS but don't abuse it. If you get enough votes then watch the money come rolling in, it has worked for me in the past and I have made some good money.
You can advertise banner advertisements or text links at sites which are related to niche fo your website.
Social media can be a good option, but it does require a lot of time and it really depends on your subject. I mean if your subject is about a delicate subject than social media isn't a good option.
For this niche I would rely on Forums and Blogs. You may consider hitting YouTube as well, as YouTube can drive a lot of traffic. Maybe shoot videos for related materials (like how to get traffic, how powerful Yahoo Answers can be, etc).

Blog commenting is a great way to build quality, relavant links to your site. Another good way to build links is contact blog owners in your niche and ask if they would like to exchange a permanent link. This is a great way to get a lot of links and new visitors.
You may also do a screen cast demonstrating what your site is all about in details then submit to video sites like youtube,dailymotion,metacafe etc.
