There are Lots of Methods available, this involves Forum signature advertising, you can purcahse signature space from other members, its always better to purchase dofollow signature links so go for a premium member signature..Submit to webdirectories, advertise your website (PPV, PPC ) etc..Good luck..:)

What you're doing here is great for building traffic to your site. Market yourself in every possible: join forums and blogs and spread the word about your site. Post your link in a signature when you are eligible to have one. good luck!

It really depends on the type of forum you have setup. I setup a gaming forum so i bought a VPS setup some game server and had my mates play on them with me slowly and steadily the server became popular and so did the site. So id suggest signing up to websites related to your forums topic if its a blog add a comment to some posts if its another forum add your link into the signature and then make some posts.

maybe you should consider this problem when you stand by the visitor's position,If they feel the forum is funny and benefit to them ,i think they will use it surely.

Forums are hard to build. Take it from me, it takes lots of time! I built a somewhat successful forum before, and what I did was hire forum posters to add content, then build many backlinks by blog commenting, and forum signatures. Lots of hard work involved, and you will not earn well for awhile, so you must be committed to the forum for long term success.

Best way to promote new forum is via facebook, twitter and adwords. Others are backlinking and video marketing

It's funny and effective at the same time. But it may be a frustrating strategy if no one will be able to join your forum but yourself. I will try this. But I don't think I have the patience,

Ask your friends to join and have active conversations with you about interesting topics. People will join if they see conversations that they would like to join in on. What do you have to offer your members that they couldn't get at another forum? Investigate some modifications that your members might find interesting (and ask for their opinion!). Once you have some members, continually show that you are updating your forums on a regular basis. Theme changes for holidays kept my members quite entertained.

if you want more and more traffic just do something like creating signature, posting more and more thread, giving more reply with your link. and giving links on most traffic forum.

You can get traffic to your forum by finding similar blogs in your niche and leaving valuable comments on them.
Ensure that the comments are useful or else they might be removed by the admin

Go to as many forums as you can and sign up for each one. Contribute to a topic or two and promote your forum. If you just spam your site, no one will want to go to it.

I guess you could start by putting your forum URL in your signature.

A good tip is to find other forums that will let you link to your forum in your signature.
