Having quality and unique games. Or perhaps games your create yourself and games that your site only have. That should bring people in.

I think you will get more people giving you the answers that don't actually have a games site. Why would game site owners want to tell a competitor exactly how to increase their traffic so that they can become more of a competitor to them. Doesn't make much sense.

Make a 100*100 banner, register on nearly every arcade banner exchange, add the code to your site, use up all your credits, remove the code from your site, enjoy your 20,000+ hits in the first couple of days and around 200+ hits the days after for the next couple of weeks.

Join a webmaster forum, exchange about 5 games links through stumbles and you will reach around 2000 - 3000 hits a day.

After all that for about a month you should still get a couple hundred of visitors through bookmarks and people remembering your site.

Need any more advice? Drop me a PM ;)

True, that's something you should get into before looking for traffic.

Actually, there's no real special way to advertise an arcade. My arcade gets about 1200 uniques a day and it's been going up and up through the months.

Start advertise at forums where allowed, submit the url to as many search engines as well, work on getting your pr up, write some great article about the site and submit it at several social bookmarking things, etc.

And yes, submitting to directorys does help because it eventually gives you good pr adn with good pr you can sell sitewides that allow you to use the money to buy banner spots.:D

Thanks for the ideas here. I bought some 1300 games for my arcade site i'm soon going to start. Most of the games are from other sites. Will it affect my website?

It wont but here's a tip that you probably wont find anywhere else - Add the games one by one, and while your at it - write your own descriptions! Having the same games is a bad thing in one way, even though you need them, making custom descriptions GREATLY helps in SEO. Plus it helps your users aswell at times when their trying to find the game of their choice.

    Very well said!;)

Try also searching for gaming forums and communities and work on your ad campaign there. You need targetted traffic to get your site going :)

I would recommend as said before... get more games, and change your url.
Try banner exchange, and maybe look for gaming forums or something to target the right group of people. I don't know if you need to register before you can play, in case you do. Remove it to get a mainstream of traffic first and offer a special feature (like rankings or something).

Site looks good though, u could cheer it up a little bit but it's very well organised, try to keep it child friendly as children are also a target group.

    Good luck.
    Supreme. :)

Is it possible to write my own descriptions to 1300 games? This is practically very hard to do. But I agree it helps very much in SEO.

Your url seems like email address, I will suggest to change it and target relevant forums and specific age group.

It is indeed a tedious task :p Try posting this project to freelancer website's if you have a budget for it. Some offshore companies would be willing to do this for you at very low rates.

If you add a game a day (or even 2 or 3) then its really easy and worth while in the end. if you just add the whole pack, then do it one by one, that may get you unmotivated very quickly. Depends what you want to do.

Or as MrCat suggested; try get some free lancers to do it for you - but make sure they make it detailed and quality. But it may cost you a bit so unless you have the money, don't go there.
