Hi all! I've been trying out a little project of mine... The main idea is as follows: A program generates pages by using keyword files. The program uploads these to a host. The pages will dynamically link themselves to other pages with similar content. The pages will contain articles with interesting info about the keywords for that page. The pages will also have adsense & other advertisments on them (relevant to the keywords for that page). This all works quite well. I now have several websites on different domains with quite a lot of generated pages. However, next step is to get traffic to these pages. Does anyone have any idea what to look for to generate traffic? If you like i can give you the link to the prototype websites, but i don't want to look like a spammer on this forum, so i didn't include it in the post... Thank you!! Auriga
The traffic is always the hardest part. If you don't have lots of good content, people won't visit the pages or link to them. There are lots of threads about traffic but there is no easy answer, it's like asking "how do I make my business profitable" - there is no single answer You could start by submitting your site to couple of the biggest search engines and do some link trades. Maybe buy some adbrite or adsense ads but that's totally up to you - big companies have marketing departments for thinking the same question
I've been told on other forums that website generation isn't "in" anymore because it's not profitable anymore (google filters them out, people don't look at the sites, etc)... However, I still see links to tools like RSSGM and websites that let you create websites using your own CSV files with keywords... I'm puzzled: are these all scams, or is there still a "bussiness" for them? Is it maybe just a matter of numbers: if you generate more pages, more people will eventually get to them, and you have a better chance to have some really good keyword combinations in them (for ranking high in google). It's been quite interesting to get such sites up and running (i've learnt some about VPS, htaccess and query optimization), but that's all technological gibberich... Now i need to make a decision: do i abandon the whole thing because it's just outdated, or might i, using some adword/adbrite adverts, or other things get some revenue from them as well?
