    Hey all,

I have started my first Debt Consolidation Website but as most of you are aware the competition levels for this niche are extremely high and i am having a hard time trying to get any organic traffic, my site is only about 2 weeks old, but usually once i start a site no matter what niche i see organic traffic on my site within days...

Im note sure if i should call it quits or push on with this one. So far i have submitted to many do-follow blogs, have started some link exchanges with some DP members and tonight i will start submitting to some link directories in the hope it helps my SERP's.

So anyway i am just wondering if anyone here has targeted a very high competition niche and had any form of luck, i know it's early days but i am getting a bad feeling already lol, i am yet to even get one click from adsense on this site to even see what the average cost per click would be, that would be some incentive to push on if it was a good $1-$2 per click.

What else can i do to try and get some organic traffic, i know i only have 7 articles i do plan to add much more over the coming weeks.

    Thanks for any helpful advice.

Quality content and regular update will give you a stable rank in SERP.
But, if you want to rank in first page and hold the ranking for that particular keyword, you need to keep the SEO going forever since it's over saturated niche.

And, do not expect good volume of organic traffic on a blog which is only 2 weeks old.
    Just my thoughts

I agree 2 weeks is nothing in the 'Google" / "SEARCH ENGINE" world but usually i have signs which encourage me to either go on with a project or to call it a day, i don't like to fail so i will ride this out over the coming months and see if i can enter into a very established niche.

Wish me luck i am going to need it, I will update this thread every so often and share my findings, if i am successful it would be nice for others to see that it is possible to enter established niches (which i have strayed away from in the past).

    Nice looking site.

It will be hard for a new site to rank well in such a very competitive niche for terms such as "Debt Consolidation", but don't let that put you off.
As the site gains age, it will also gain trust (so long as no BH methods are used to promote your site) and then rankings for competitive terms will improve.

So until your site starts gaining age, don't bother trying to target the high competition keywords.
I would just focus on adding more great original content, maybe make less frequent posts but make them longer and more detailed targeting long tail phrases.

Take your time, don't be in a hurry, think of it as a long term project.

    Cheers
    James

EDIT: Linking out to unrelated battlefield sites will not help you gain trust or move up the ranks.

    Cheers James !

As for Black Hat (i assume that's what you mean by BH) i have never used any methods like that or even considered using autoblogs, i might not be making a killing but what i am earning i am doing honestly.

    Thanks for the advice

That is a tough niche. Millions of sites to compete with.

Create 5 - 10 Gateway Sites( Small Sites with 5 - 10 Pages) on the same topic targeting log tail keywords, it might help you in generating more traffic and also clicks on your adsense Ads.

To gain trust, you must earn it...
Creating doorway pages in an attempt to artificially boost your ranking will not gain trust and more than likely get you penalized.

Doorway pages are typically large sets of poor-quality pages where each page is optimized for a specific keyword or phrase. In many cases, doorway pages are written to rank for a particular phrase and then funnel users to a single destination.

Whether deployed across many domains or established within one domain, doorway pages tend to frustrate users, and are in violation of our webmaster guidelines.

It's not easy to get traffic. But if you are considering some low targetted keywords then you can surely expect some traffic. Don't enter into fight with big boys in your market. Try with some small techniques and yet effective and then start growing your technique with time.
