How to get traffic from StumplUpon?

Can someone please tell me the best way of getting traffic from stumbleupon?
I want to know how to post, what to post, descrition, keywords etc when posting to stumbleupon.
Also does google take it as backlink?

 

first get the stumble toolbar, then start adding pages to stumble, just be descriptive and relevent because if your stumble appears as a result for somebody who was stumbling something unreleted you will get a bad vote from them which will hurt your traffic. next is there is a nofollow tag on stumble links so its no good for serps. good luck.

also check out the freebies section in the bst forum, if your submitting lots of pages from 1 url you should get someone else to submit some so it does not look spammy

I think posting in stumbleupon helps a lot if you have a certain amount of friends and of course, it could not be counted as a backlink because robots are filtered

 

Get as many friends as you can on StumbleUpon and like Lou suggested - keep on submitting your pages with good descriptions. Your friends will see your new submissions on theirs home pages and may also stumble it.

This work like viral marketing - you can get thousands of visitors very quickly if you have enough friends.

Stumble exchange in freebies section can help to jump start it.

It does take time but it works with persistance. It's not my favorite thing to do. There are some sites that submit to all the social bookmarks.

 

stumble friends is easy, all you need to do is visit your topic on the stumble homepage, and there is 12 "online now" profiles at the top, just open each one in a new tab then go through each of the 12 and "add as friend" and just keep doing that, 12 at a time, you can get 100 friends in a day or so and thats a huge start if they are active members it will spread like a bush fire.

My #1 referrer is always stumbleupon, and I have yet to do anything to promote it there, and don't even use stumbleupon...
