1.)You have to first increase your network on facebook,Be real dont post ugly urls there. 2.)Use share it buttons below each of your article in your website,So interesting visitors can share it to there friends this increase traffic.
I'm a FB fanatic and have just put a Fanpage on! You can pay to drive traffic to your page viral marketing is awesome for this and Facebook is great for it if you pay for an ad. Tweet your followers on Twitter! Make a youtube video but make usre its related to your page and make the video stand out! USe small URL's so you can see whos clicking on your links also better for people to see a short url instead of an ugly one...theres lots of ways hope this gets your started!
Getting traffic out of facebook is so easy and unlimited in nature. You just need to make a group/page related to your niche. Making a group/page you will be able to add more and more members into it. Once you have added near about 5000 members in your group, then it will be a major source of traffic for your website. Facebook offers a PPC ad campaign. That's the best path to take if you want to generate huge traffic from Facebook. It's not that expensive.

the best thing is to create a group or a fan page for me I prefer creating fan page because your updates will be seen with all people , while creating a group is better in the first , but after your group members exceeds 5 k your message to all members will be disabled Just Create a Fan Page and start put a nice content
I started a fan page as well for one of my sites about 6 weeks ago now and I have over 1k members and have seen a steady increase in traffic to my website as well.
Create a fan page and if your site is updating twice every week then share links on fan page and increase your friends circle and ask your friends to become a fan of that page and ask them to suggest that page to their friends also.

First thing really is to build one's network. So many people will be able to read it. You can try making FB apps or fan pages that will surely get people's attention. Also writing articles (with keywords and URL) that are very interesting will also be able to increase your site's traffic.
Unless you have lots of money to spend on ads, then you should be realistic and know that building traffic will come with time as you naturally build relationships and fans. This will not happen over night, be patient but make sure that you consistently work at it. good luck!
