How to get top rank in search engines?

I know that uniquely crafted content that entertains or enlightens an audience makes it easy for a blog or website to rank in the Search engines. If people like what they read, if they can talk about it perhaps on Twitter or Digg or other Social media, your blog will get traffic that can't be ignored. So, instead of regugerating articles you find on the web, try adding your spin to the story. Add facts by researching your subject a little deeper, or devise your own conclusion to an opinion piece. I guess, what it boils down to is to be brave, start writing and get better at it every day...

How else can we point people to our content... Do you have any ideas?

Any example if possible? If the keyword is a low-compete area, like "alpiste" or "millet" or something like that, what would it take to get into top 3 positions?

Get high ranking is not a one day or weeks job. It requires lot of patience and manipulation to reach there. First of all you need to identify the keywords for your site and then start working around to get backlinks to your site with those keywords as anchor text.
Trying focusing on internal links as well and make sure each post and page has meta data and description specified.
The loading speed of your site also plays an important role so make sure you have faster loading time..

You have to check off page and on page factor of SEO, correct if there is any wrong in your on page seo factor such such as title, description, keyword and other thing, than go to off page factor such analyze your site competitor and start build backlinks.

There are thousands of different factors that play a role in ranking in Google SERPs. My suggestion for a new website would be to follow this basic outline.

    1. Add quality content, NO DUPLICATE or SCRAPED content
    2. Complete all on-page SEO, keywords, meta tags, sitemap, PCRobots.txt etc. keep it natural, but make sure keywords are relevant and on target
    3. Look for high quality backlinks in the first 3 months, then go to lower backlinks later
    4. Constantly add content, keeping it on theme and unique, this will pay off and build your trust slowly
    5. After 6 months, you can pay for backlinks

Firstly you must have good quality content for people to link to and view, then:

    - Add your website to directories (free or paid) e.g. DMOZ
    - Comment on relevant blogs and forms e.g. Digital Point
    - Once established, add signature links to your blog and forum profiles
    - Use social bookmarking to store links on social sites e.g. Delicious
    - Submit articles to relevant online article directories e.g. Marketing Source
    - Use Social Media to distribute your links e.g. Twitter
    - Get links on affiliate sites i.e. relevant sites linking to you

Your ultimate aim is to create ‘viral content’; this is content which people want to forward on and link to, it is the holy grail of link building!

Building quality links takes time, so go for quality and set realistic goals.
