    Hello Everyone,

I am new to the Internet space and am just learning and testing things out. I am in the process of creating a website and am currently learning about Digg. Today I made my first Digg and wanted to know how things get to the home page.

The digg I made can be found at:
    http://digg.com/technology/How_to_get_a_fake_Google_PR_of_10.

I found this blog post from technorati and am also wondering how I can find more popular topics.

Any recommendations on how I can make it potentially get popular. My overall goal is to build a digg reputation and get 100s of good information/articles to the home page. I am trying to get popular like some of these Digg guys http://digg.com/topusers who are at the top of the list.

Is there also any other sites like digg out there?

    Thanks

    Fred Vaca

There are quite a few sites out there - someone will post the list.

The trick to getting on the home page is to understand what the users of that site like - and it will differ site to site.

I've noticed that Digg users favour gimmicky posts, a bit out there, but nothing that's actually terribly useful. Just look at Page 1 and you'll see what I mean.

BTW: your item has been deleted :(

Nah it's not deleted. U need that full-stop in the url as well, sarahk.

Technically, you need to get enough people to digg your submission within a short time frame (about 2 days max). But if you depend solely on site users to see your submission in the queue and digg it, you need to have sufficient diggs in about less than a day. Otherwise by then your submission would be buried deep in the queue.

OK, I can see it now, but the Google Toolbar gives the example a PR3

Fred, what country are you in?

Trick is to get a very interesting story before someone else posts it. Has to be informative and the title has to be good
