Hello.. I have to format my PC and install Windows 7 on it now. Got to take the backup of my outlook's mail file, which is the outlook.pst But not able to copy it to my pen drive .. Whats the best way to keep a copy of it ?? Its more than 1320 MB...
never done something like that, still here's a few quick things i can think off, 1) use a file splitter and split the big file into 2 - 3 parts and write it on a cd or pen drives... then join them once you have installed the new windows. 2) write it on a DVD 3) just format c drive and do not make partitions, backup c drive files into the other drives of your harddrive and install windows in C drive, 4) make a online backup... would take ages to upload lol cheers!
No.. Nothing can be done to that backup file Thats the main issue.. Earlier I used to attach it to my email attachment and keep the opy,but now its 1320 MB and its impossible for a mail attachment.. Im pissed
Other option you can use is just buy a new bigger size pen drive. Even a 4GB pen drive is so cheap nowadays. - Dynashox -
Not sure but there are problems with the pen drives. I copy the contents on it and it won't work on another machine. And now my pen drive seems to have lost its life. Its way a Sony Pen Drive.
Friends, there is no problem with my Pen Drive. I have a 4GB one already.. Just that file, doesnt seem to allow me for anything to do with it... It doesnt even allow to get Zipped. Damn!! I think, you all neevr tried this. Im waiting for someone, who has done this already and manages some business or company ID.. Plz help..
You Mean You Are Unable To Copy That Only To Pendrive Or Any Other Drives Too, Drive making A Backup Again And This Time Save It Directly To pendrive, Once When I did I just Copied The Content Of Outlooks Temp File Means From Application Data or Local Settings Dont remember Exactly
The file is here, C:\Users\QubeSys\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook1.pst Yes,it doesnt let me touch it even. Dont understand, whats happening.. No permissions to anything.. Im the single admin..
There must be something wrong with your pen drive . Any files can be stored in pen drives, why can't the outlook files ?
No... This file doesnt allow me to do anything with it.. Not sure, why it does like this... Im amazed that,no one here has tried this ever in Outlook. Strange! This is the error,I get when i try to copy it to the desktop...
Not everyone are using Outlook. I'm myself is using Thunderbird. I find this link related to your error code : http://office-outlook.com/outlook-forum/index.php/m/109589/ Hope it can solve your problem. - Dynashox -
