Can anyone give advice about going it alone from the beginning or is it just too difficult to get any exposure? I have a friend who'd like to get into this field, he's a writer rather than an expert on any particular subject, though has the ability to research quickly and effectively. He's considering just setting up his own website from the get-go.
thanks for some valuable information, just right to boost my ambitions to start copywriting. Could also suggest some site to test my skills as a copywriter. Someplace I can write something and know how am i doing with copywriting.
I've done various freelance projects and I would definitely stay start working from your source. Work with people close to you, like friends and family and see if they need work and charge them a reasonable price. Build up a portfolio and then start to offer your services to others. The last thing you want to do is jump straight in to the big wide world and not meet the required standard and you're slated and degraded as a freelancer. Just my two cents.
Interesting post. I have written articles / reviews for various specialist magazines to earn extra money but where do i start with copywriting freelancing? I have a portfolio of what i have done over the last few years and would like to know where to go to pitch my ideas / rates etc. Im based in the UK if that matters...thanks in advance (great forum by the way!)
I appreciate those people of freelancer. I am looking for that life and work style. But my site revenue doesn't make a living. I must work in a company.
I'm not trying to be rude here so please don't mis-read what I'm about to say. If, as you say, he has the ability to research effectively then may I suggest he at least starts by doing just that.
