How to get SMTP in working condition..

    HI 4rnds,

    I am using XAMPP Environment i want to run the SMTP server for the purpose of mail transferring how can i get the smtp server in my local system plz guide me if i want to install any s/w like externally to run the SMTP.. Thanks in advance...
