I seen a thread about some webmaster got 8 sitelinks showing in the google search results. i was wondering is anyone had any ideas on how to get extra sitelinks. one of my sites is the number 1 resource for a certain niche but i am being beaten in the serps buy wiki and some other guy who got his site up a month before me. there are hundreds of duplicates and mfa's in the results. my site has sooo much more content than the number 1 ranked site but i dont have any sitelinks in google webmaster tools. anyone got any clues on the algo so i can try and improve my site and give it the justice it deserves. some of the sitelinks that google is giving to the number 1 site are to really crap pages within the url.
If you mean like digitalpoint google decides what site gets the links. If you mean pages listed that is SEO for each page.
I think in order to have a site links you need to be trusted by google or considered as authority site. I think also link popularity would still be apply here.
do you think it would be possible to become a authority site ans knock a number 1 player out of the game? my keyword competition is only 268,000 and the authority site in this case is only a month older than mine.
our site also just got a bunch of sitlinks, not quite sure what theat means for us, but i can say that we wrere pleasantly surprised.
I am not sure about this... My site is by no means an authority site, But I have 4 sitelinks show up in webmaster tools.. The only thing I can think of is that these 4 pages are the most prominent links on my homepage, and get the most search traffic.. Dunno Cheers James
Google themselves say they generate sitelinks for sites that have relevant contents and a good navigational structure. I have sitelinks generated for my site and have a very text based Nav with the anchor text the same (internal) to the pages that matter, I would sue this as a starting point.
my site shows the sitelinks on webmaster tools but not when i search for it on google. Do i need to enable it or something?
You probably just need to be patient if the sitelinks are already showing up in webmaster tools. You're site is probably next in line for the privelige.
It's not that your site is an authority. But Google believes that your site is the most relevant for that keyword and decides to give it the sitelinks.
Yes, definitely be patient. Getting sitelinks takes time and you must build trust from Google. Once they trust your site, they will rank you accordingly.
i am not 100% sure but i dont think the sitelinks show in search results unless your 1st, dont quote me though
Actually, on this topic, I noticed around 3 of my sites also have sitelinks showing in webmaster tools recently. However, I cannot get it to show in the actual Search Queries. Has Google made all sites show sitewides in Webmaster Tools now?
When and if they actually come, is this based on the number of hits you are having or trustrank? Must be a forumala
