How to get searches from US only through SEO

Hi Frens,

I don't know if this is the right section to post my question so pls excuse me if not.

I have optimizing a site for which I need to attract searches only from US. Coz this site is useful to people who are in US and they want to book airline tickets from US to any other part or in US itself.

My boss says 40% searches are coming from other parts of the world and he don't want that. He is saying i want 80% of the searches from US only so pls help me out. What on page and off page optimization we can do to get our site visible in US market.And how I need to plan things before i start? Kindly let me know your thoughts

I think, First step is set Location US in Google Webmaster's geographic location.
Google currently only allow you to associate your site with a single country and location.

second step is Get quality Back links from US country's sites , try best and do link exchange campaign with related category and US sites.

get the some US Forums and resources to post your link.

to get better in us search u have to build more backlinks from US IP sites.

we have been trying to building links from US sites but still we don't see much improvement I.e we need more searches from US but we are getting from other countries also. Can other members share more of their ideas and help me out..

I would try to create more content with USA related keywords, like states or cities, even just a list of states that you wish to deal with...

Try to put it either in your main page or about page, that way it will be helpful for your visitors and for the SERPs as well.

 

yep set the geographical option on googl webmaster tools to the US and google will then start ensuring that your site targets their region at the expense of others.

 

Is it a .us domain, if it is it should get more hits from Google from us residents.

 

While building backlinks try to get links from US sites (.us domains, hosted in the US, etc.)
This helps a lot for geo targeting. You might check the geo targeting option inside the Google Webmaster Tools as well.

 

Thank you all once again for your valueable advice. The site i am talking is Globester dot com and it doesn't have .us in the domain. The site was registered four years back. It has PR4 and its get around 500 searches but i want 10 times more and that's has to be from US only.

As said I will try to get geo targeting option in the webmaster tools and see what happens.

If anybody can share some more ideas pls do that.
